Hour of Code
BCPS is honoring National Computer Science Education Week (December 9-13) and the District’s new partnership with the non-profit organization, Code.Org, by participating in the Hour of Code.
The Hour of Code is a national weeklong campaign, which aims to have 10 million students in the United States experience one hour of computer science in school. The overall goal is to increase students’ interest in computer science and code writing as future career paths. As part of the Hour of Code, more than 200 schools across the District will be taking part in a variety of “coding” lessons. To learning more about the Hour of Code, please click here.

School Choice is Easy
The District is excited to announce a change in the School Choice application process. Parents will now be able to submit their application for a Nova school, Magnet School or reassignment during the same application window, which takes place from December 1, 2012 - February 12, 2014.
This is the first time the school reassignment has started in December. Parents, guardians and students are encouraged to explore all the educational opportunities available in Broward County Public Schools and make the choice that is right for them.
